New pump house and water systemNow that Naturist Legacy Park had electricity, we could begin building structures. I began a routine that I would repeat again and again over the next few years. I created a detailed project materials list, shopped retailers for the best prices, hand picked the best lumber I could find (when lumber was part of the project) and then transported everything from Winnipeg or Selkirk to the park at my expense using my own truck (only the large clubhouse project needed commercial deliveries). This voluntary routine would save members of Naturist Legacy Inc. a substantial amount of money during the years I was building for them. Our first project was the pump house. My wife and I started by assembling its foundation and floor. The walls and roof structure were built with the help of additional volunteers. Metal roofing, a sturdy door, trim boards and a fresh coat of paint finished the job (siding would be added after our other buildings were finished). CJ Electric Ltd. of Beausejour was soon on site to wire the pump house so that CLD Excavating of Clandeboye could install our new pump and pressure tank on August 5th. With that done, another critical milestone was achieved. Naturist Legacy now had a source of water under pressure!
I promptly submitted water samples to ALS Environmental in Winnipeg for testing per instructions from Manitoba's Office of Drinking Water. I was pleased to post the water test results on the pump house wall for all to see. Apart from elevated iron levels (which we would eventually reduce with filtration), Naturist Legacy Park had excellent water! We were issued a Permit to Construct or Alter a Semi-Public Water System on September 15, 2011, and an Operating Licence for a Semi-Public Water System on August 1, 2013 (we had been operating the drinking water system legally since May of 2012).
